About the Perspectives
Preparing for the EU accession, the HCSO seriously develops its base data and information technological infrastructure. The updating of the agricultural database and the application development system is implemented, PC workstations are procured, memory, processor and server updating is carried out.
The Agricultural Statistical Digital Map project is supported by the back-wind of the challenges of accession and the information technological development. The existing system is extended with spatial co-ordinates, maps and GIS user interface to ensure uniform data management.
The inherent strength of the system is in the use of spatial co-ordinates.
They enable the analyses on a sub-settlement abstraction level, the comparison
of census and remote sensing data for interpretation or monitoring purposes,
receiving data from other GIS systems on the bases of geometrical relations.
The possibilities of the solution may support agricultural censuses, following
changes and the practical use of modern GIS analyses.
