We started a new project called Jengo. Jengo is a mobile application, which allows users to sketch a 2D or 3D plan of a construction, position and orient the resulted floor plan on a map based interface.

JENGO

Jengo means building in Swahili language. JENGO is a handy smart-phone application to capture data and 3D mapping of various constructions quickly and easily. JENGO provides a more human approach editing shapes and dimensioning of footprint, walls and roof of constructions by simple gestures. Clean user interactions and better use of screen real estate are the most important design aspect of JENGO software application. The existing prototype has passed several iterations so user experience of graphical editing has been significantly improved.

JENGO utilises proven open source technologies of mobile application development. The software framework is QtQuick, which is a cross-platform application development framework using QML GUI description language, which makes possible the integration of JavaScript code and libraries. Data are stored in an SQLight database, 3D presentation adopts Three.js.
