Possible directions for the further extension of the ÜST system

There are two possible directions for the further extension of the ÜST system. One of them is the more extensive functionality in the registry of vineyards and fruit plantations. Further statistical reports may appear, like e.g. the storing capacity of wine cellars and so more analyses can be realised. A direct connection may be formed with the registry of the wine-growing community and the organisation of the National Headquarters of the Customs and Finance Guard. The system may give support to the real estate politics related measures of the MARD as well.

The other possibility would be to extend the system to the whole agricultural statistics, that is, to all plants, of which a statistical registry is kept. In this case new representation forms are likely to be created.

The multipurpose application possibilities of ÜST are as follows:
1. Supplying data to statistical offices.
2. Supplying land use data regarding land tax.
3. Creating an agricultural - environmental protection information system.
4. Supplying data for the redistribution of landed property, regional development and county planning.
5. It shows the structure of land use, endowments of arable lands and ecology (only in the case of vineyards and fruit plantations, for the time being).

Recommendations serving the sustainability of the ÜST project

The project has caused well definable changes in the organisation of the HCSO. New tools, abilities and tasks have appeared, the organisational culture has widened with new knowledge elements and longer-term processes of change have started. Measures to be implemented immediately aim at improving the documented deficiencies of the project results. Measures concerning the quality improvement projects and activities recurring annually serve the sustainability of the ÜST. Measures extending the conception serve the possibility to apply the principles and approaches used in the ÜST for further professional issues concerning the HCSO. The following table summarises the recommendations of BlomInfo.

Statistics is one of the most important feedback systems of society. The ÜST system enriches the possibilities of representing, analysing agricultural census data. Compared to the application of vectorised base data the geo-code is a compromise, but it gives a solution to the tracking of modifications in the boundaries of territorial units and using the spatial interpolation tools it enables varied, even micro level analyses as well. It is imaginable that the aggregated spatial statistical object or the covers of interpolated data gradually become independent statistical products.
