Human resource development - GIS training
The education plays in the successfullness of the GIS projects outstanding role. We esteemed the education as a very important activity. The education was organized by the Department of Physical Geography, University of Szeged.
The department is also joined to the instruction of the GIS expert geographers. Professors of the University have experienced in designing courses, elaborating course books and other training materials. The University engaged the training rooms, hardware and software. The workers of the HCSO cognized the basics of the GIS, ArcView standard software, Digital Map extension and the basics of remote sensing. The training includes three courses (A,B,C). Course A and B involve the end-users and Course C the GIS system administrators. The number of the interested HCSO people is 19 for Course A, 18 for Course B and 14 for Course C. After a successful exam, 37 of the participants have received a certificate of the program. Previously, we agreed with professionals of the HCSO on the detailed program and the educational material of the course.
An ArcView training material was created. It deals with the most important commands and processes of ArcView like the user interface, menu, tools, project window, view, chart, layout and script window, measure of distances and areas, carry out database queries, searching and sorting etc.
